In regards to all things sex education, I have used Cath Hakanson's resources over the years. When I saw that she had written a puberty guide for parents, I was very happy as this is a well written and informative book.

It's really easy to read and has some great tips for having an open and honest conversations with your child(ren). The information is relevant in understanding not only physical changes but also the behavioral and emotional changes that are happening as our children develop. The guide has lots of ideas for answering specific questions about puberty.

These books are straight to the point, very informative and not forgetting fun. My child loves the books and has learned so much from them (we have all of them). These colouring books have made my life very easy with potentially awkward topics and are a great conversation starter.

Paper Doll Families is a fantastic resource by Cath Hakanson. My child loved the interactive aspect and was able to cut out and colour the dolls. We discussed the topic of Where do babies come from? Whilst playing with the paper dolls.
This inclusive activity book is a brilliant way to introduce the topic of reproduction, pregnancy, childbirth and babies to children in a fun and age appropriate way. There are several dolls including babies of different ages (newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months and 18 months), different ethnicities, all of the paper dolls are anatomically correct. The parents are also included so there is an opportunity to discuss how babies are made and the unique ways in which this can be done (donation, assisted reproduction, surrogacy and adoption).

I purchased this resource to educate myself after my 5 yo discovered that shower stream feels nice down there. The next day the conversation was so easy for me, I knew what to say and how much detail to give. Cath’s language is accessible down to earth Aussie, I felt like I was sitting across her talking about it.
I’ve purchased other items from her store and
reading/watching them felt more at ease with the most difficult conversations around sex and bodies. I would recommend Cath and her knowledge for anyone wanting to provide their children with the right/accessible information so they can thrive in life confident in their bodies and loving themselves. This book is aimed at the parents. Cath Hakanson has down-to Earth approach to opening up discussions with your child or children about private body parts.

I enjoyed reading this book because it doesn’t just explain things, it gives you directions and tips that are age appropriate in order to talk to them in an open and honest way.

As a parent, it can be so overwhelming with the plethora of information and misinformation available. I dreaded having to talk to my child from wondering where to start and what to say. I especially loved her tips, it provides guidance for what to say and how to say it. It helps to navigate through the minefield of misinformation that they can receive from their peers, media and the world around them.

There are also links throughout the book for further information which is very helpful.
